Romeo Giuli MD, resident.
School of General and Emergency Surgery.
University of Siena.   Italy.

September 2001.     Brief Report.

For gastric cancer in the United States the therapeutic questions under discussion continue to include the extent of primary resection, including the extent of lymphadenectomy; the efficacy of postoperative radiation, including concurrent chemotherapy or radiation or both as adjuvant treatment; the potential benefit of immediate postoperative intraperitoneal chemotherapy; and more recently, the potential benefit of neoadjuvant or induction chemotherapy, with or without radiation ( J ENiederhuber ).
